Today is the summer day I've been waiting for! Those beautiful, mid Michigan summer days are glorious and I'mm completely over the heat. There's a reason I'm still in Michigan and not a southern state. So Chris, the brilliant, wonderful man he is, suggests spending an hour or so at the Meijer Gardens with coffee (peppermint tea for me to kick this cold) and letting Ana play in the Children's Garden.
To sit in the sun without drying out like a damn apricot and taking the morning relatively slow (for us) set the whole damn tone for the rest of the day. You know who hasn't been in a foul mood since 8am? ANA. (She literally wakes up angry and continues that pattern recently).
Probably my favorite highlight would have to be when Ana announced to the entirety of the gardens...
"IT'S A SNAKE! OH MY GOD IT'S A SNAKE! AAAAAAHHHH!"
Like she just discovered the largest python to ever be recorded and some other Mom, who's kids probably don't act like everything is a contest for best leading actresses at the Oscars, quickly intervened with a "Oh honey, it's okay it's just a garter snake!" and put out the epic panic Ana was about to work herself into. #parentsunite
This weekend is going to be one of our last hoorah's as we're about 4 week and 6 days from our due date and I'm just getting sore and slower as time moves on, so I'm trying to soak up enough peace this week to not be a crazy, frazzle ball this weekend.
