Summer is here! We’ve been spending almost all day, every day outside. Mostly in the dirt. We’ve been tearing up the yard, planting all the things, and catching all the toads.
For some reason, every summer, I decide to just start tearing up wherever we live to do different projects. With a house now? Lord help my poor husband. I got the itch and just started ripping up the kitchen floor. We’ve been cutting and laying the new floor for two weeks now. Baby has only gotten an appendage in glue twice, and Ana has tripped over everything less than 100 times, so I’m calling it a success. We only have a tiny patch left to do, then it’s on to the dining room!
Oh, and the yard. And the transforming a dresser. And rearranging the girls bedroom. And painting. And planting the plants. And the list goes on and on.
As you can see below, I’m not a neat freak really. I set my kids in the dirt and they play in mud and puddles and find bugs and I do what I need to do. They’re always within 6 feet of me, but I just don’t feel the need to find constant entertainment or containers for them. So this summer is all about the dirt, bugs, sprinklers, and ice cream.
What are you all up to?
