This little chunk.
For some reason while I was pregnant with her, I thought the universe owed me a happy, easy baby because Ana was so difficult. The first month of her life, Eleni was so chill and went to everyone. Now, at 4 months, she seems determined to top her sister in the cranky department.
We’re hitting a sleep regression, teething, and a developmental milestone all at once. Full force. This means she’ll only sleep in her carrier which we’ve nicknamed the ‘monkey pouch’. But in order to get her to sleep, we have to play music and move. And I mean really move. None of that bouncing in place nonsense. Your ass better dance like a famous ballerina or like a starving bear got a look at your juicy hiney. Needless to say, I break 6000 steps before noon easily.
She loves her toys though! Which is new for me because Ana didn’t really care about toys like this, so it’s cool to watch Eleni’s eyes go wide when we put her on her mat and see her eat the toys. I’ve ordered some super rad Fisher Price throwback dangle toys for her for Christmas that I can’t wait to clip to her stuff. We are also stocking up on those teethers you can stick in the fridge because those are amazing. Hopefully they’re as much fun to play with as the bottom of the shower curtain, which she could lay and play with for an hour.
Her new favorite heart-attack inducing move is to quickly propel herself sideways with one leg when she’s on any surface that could be dangerous, while smirking at you. Bathtub? Yep. Couch while we wipe up something Eloise swiped off the table with her tail? You betchya. Swing? Absolutely.
Oh, also, to the judgey Deborah in Wal-Mart who said she was”big for her age,” you’re a dick. She’s the most adorable little Squish ever.
