Man, life goes fast. So fucking fast. I just want to grab the reins and slow it down, even if it’s just for a single day to soak in every second and memorize it like it is right then, because it’ll change tomorrow.
Ana’s bike broke, the one with the training wheels, so we took this opportunity to finally buy her a big kid bike with no training wheels and start in on teaching her to ride it. Chris did a round when he got home, but the first time I got to do it.
Let me tell you.
If you have little tiny t-rex arms, teaching a child to ride a bicycle is difficult because you basically just hold the back and try not to let them crash and burn, or you crash and burn. Very difficult. I texted my Dad after and asked them if there were any tricks or if it was just hold and chase.
Spoiler, it’s just hold and chase.
I watched Chris do the hold and chase while Eleni pulled herself up on my legs, since she’s in the days of learning to stand, and I could have cried in my driveway like a teenager with a broken heart. As amazing as it is to watch these perfect little people grow and watch them light up and get excited and proud of themselves over these milestones, a piece of my heart breaks knowing this is one more thing I better soak up now before it’s gone.
So while I sob, here are some of my favorite photos in the universe.
